Say Howdy! Get Rowdy! S2E2 – Road Atlanta

Posted by: on

Chelsea Denofa and BC Racing released the latest episode of Say Howdy! Get Rowdy! covering FD Round 2 at Road Atlanta.
When I got to talk to Denofa in the paddocks before qualifying and asked him how he felt coming out of Long Beach and he was obviously happy with LB but wasn’t really confident going into it. Denofa ended up qualifying pretty high in 4th. Asking him again on Saturday I ran into him again and asked if his confidence was any better after qualifying as well as he did, and he still wasn’t very confident. After walking by his paddock they were doing some serious work under the car around the gearbox. Turns out (as you’ll see the in the video) he was having some trouble so hopefully Denofa does better in his home state of Florida.

I did ask one of the crew if Denofa had gotten the new tranny he was selling his personal RX-7 to be able to afford after the issues in Long Beach and it turns out he did get the new transmission but hadn’t been able to get it in before Atlanta due to travel and not having a place to work, hopefully he is able to sort that and the other issues out for Round 3 Palm Beach next weekend.

Chelsea DeNofa Breaks In The E46 at XDC Texas

Chelsea Posted this video of him at his first event in the new E46. I think the coolest parts about his videos is how he actually explains what is going on and not just random off topic comments. Can’t wait to see his back in this in 2013, although it sounds like the poor guy needs a tire sponsor badly.

Chelsea Denofa Announces Return of the BMW and Confirms Bergenholtz Rumors

Posted by: on

Chelsea Denofa announced today that he will be returning for the 2013 Formula D season as we all expected after a pretty successful rookie season in 2012. What we didn’t expect was that he will be returning in the BMW that he built after his crash at wall speedway and he never got to pilot in the 2012 season. This means he will be returning as a privateer driver and not with Bergenholtz Racing. It was surprising to many when shortly after the crash at wall speedway and in the middle of the Formula D 2012 season Bergenholtz Racing announced it would be splitting ways with Joon Maeng and picking up Chelsea Denofa to pilot the Nitto Tires RX-8. This announcement by Denofa confirms previous rumors that Bergenholtz would not be returning to Formula D for the 2013 season. I for one am excited to see the gold and black BMW back out there, I feel that Denofa looked much more comfortable in it and pushed his limits more. It’s also a more unique choice of platform vs the current roster of vehicles on the field. We wish Chelsea the best in the 2013 season and hope to see him on the podium soon.
