Site Latency After Atlanta

Posted by: on

We are aware of intermittent issues with some of the driver pages and the drivers list page. This is due to the incredible response we received after attending Formula D Atlanta and the amount of traffic. We will be looking at resolving this over the next couple of days if not today, Thank you very much for the warm response and understanding.

The Big Reveal – Shift-Therapy.com Formula D Driver Profiles & Stats!

Posted by: on

Let me start this off by thanking anyone who has stuck by and kept coming to the site over the last two months while content was stale. That time is about to come to an end.

I never really made it known, but one of the main reasons Shift-Therapy.com was brought back to life and turned into a site/blog dedicated to Drifting (and some automotive news) was that as a Drift fan I found myself wanting to know a lot more information about the drivers and about the past events. Things like who has raced who, when did Racer X have the best season, what is the highest he has qualified, and that kind of information. Although there are a few sites that have some information, and others that try to keep up with coverage I just couldn’t find one place that gave me the ability to follow drivers histories and find out more about them. And that is what I hope to provide with this site/blog as of right now.
Previously I had posted a few driver profiles, but to be honest they weren’t what I wanted them to be; I wanted more. I wanted to be able to keep these profiles and information current and up to date, to provide more statistics and more information. So, I went back to the drawing board and started thinking, and sketching, and laying out, and planning, and drinking at some points when I got frustrated. I finally decided the only way to do this was to create a database of drivers, driver information, events, matches, races, histories, podiums, everything I could find and everything I wanted to know at one point or another. So, after almost two months of watching replayed drifting footage and streams, reading articles and sites – gathering information from anywhere I could find it and verify it, I now have that database and information and am bringing it here, to you!
Below you can see some screenshots of the profiles or you can go to the navigation in the top right of the site and go the profile pages.

Now, this is just the beginning. My goal is to keep up with the statistics and data from events, but as time goes on I will will also work on adding more to sections the profiles: maybe drivers history, car information, past cars, who knows, anything I can find that you would want to know about – I will do my best to evolve these profiles to contain. And for the record, I am not just doing active drivers, I have information from every FD USA event there has been and am just trying to find the best way to integrate retired or inactive drivers so expect those in the upcoming months as well.
I hope that you enjoy the profiles and find them awesome and keep coming back. Feel free to reach out to me on Twitter or Facebook and let me know what you want to see next.

Stale, But Still Kicking. Shift-Therapy’s Alive & Has a Look At Our Upcoming Driver Profiles!

Posted by: on

I know the site hasn’t been posting much in the last couple weeks, but to be honest anyone who follows drift news knows that this is a sort of tight lipped time when people are holding onto big sponsor news and car releases until the technical inspection and the opportunity for big press. Also in my defense this is at the moment mostly a one man show and I do have a full time job, go to school part time and do some free lance graphic design work here and there. Either way, no excuse, the site is still here and kicking and I haven’t forgotten about you. To wet your appetite here is something that I am working on and hope to bring to you in the upcoming weeks. Here is a preview of the Shift-Therapy.com Formula D drivers profiles.
driverProfilePreview
Now the information in this preview isn’t verified vs the data i’ve been collecting for this project, but again it’s just to wet your appetite. I am planning for the initial batch to be the Drift Alliance brothers (Tony Angelo, Chris Forsberg, Vaughn Gittin Jr, Justin Pawlak and Ryan Tuerck).

I have been collecting driver statistics for all drivers qualifying events back as far as 2007 and podiums as early as 2005 in addition to working some math some places to figure out average qualifying score, how many events they have qualified for since the rookie year and even what track they have performed best at. Upon launch the profiles will be limited to the profile page itself but I am hoping to grow each drivers profile to include a History/Time Line, List of Cars that they currently drive and/or own both in Formula D and personally as well as previous cars from past seasons. I will at least have photos but hope to also include as much technical info as possible.

These driver profiles are what inspired me to bring back Shift-Therapy as drifting/automotive blog to form a single place people can find out as much about the drivers as possible and keep up on general news so I am really looking forward to launching this project. Also as Shift-Therapy is a small site I don’t have access to the drivers or information as some much larger blogs do so it’s a lot slower for me to have to collect data manually throughout the internet and videos, blogs and driver sites, photos and etc, BUT don’t count us out as we have gotten a lot more than we anticipated and are hoping to bring you the best place for Formula D driver info short of the drivers mouth itself.

So stick around, we are just tightening the bolts before we start shaking this puppy lose.
