Patrick Mordaunt Back in 350z for 2014 Season

Posted by: on

So Patrick Mordaunt posted this video on Instagram today and announced the return of his old Nissan 350z to Formula D in 2014. It looks like He will not be piloting the Apexi Lexus SC430 this upcoming year. This has to make us curious as to rather we will see the return of Ryuji Miki to Formula D US as he was seen testing in the Lexus SC430 at Texas this past year. When the SC430 was initially built it was for Ryuji in the 2010 series, but he did not return to the US series in 2011 and that is when Patrick took over piloting the car. And after 3 years he just looks to have been getting comfortable in that chassis, so lets see how comfortable he is getting back behind the turbo VQ powering the Z.

So now that this very interesting and controversial event is over, here are the results.

4th Robbie Nishida

Michael Essa is the 2013 Formula Drift Champion

So Forsberg was knocked out by Daigo Saito in some unexplainable way in the Great 8. As Essa Qualified 1st and was gifted Top 16 points due to FD rulings and much controversy, Chris needed to finish in 1st or 2nd to take the championship. As he was just knocked out by Saito, Essa now the 2013 FD Champion.

Meet the Achilles Radial Team & See What Makes Them Run

The Achilles Radial team released the following video yesterday giving a brief insight into their FD US Team and Bridges Racing. I think for a small clip it gives a great insight on what this team feels is important and necessary to run such a successful program with not only one but three(I believe it is 3 as I know they have been helping Dean Kearney for sure, but I have seen them with Walker Wilkerson’s car in the pits but I think that is due to the Achilles Sponsorship mainly) cars to run per event. I also think it’s great to show the team and how they feel about the program and drivers and not just focus on the drivers. Great small video.
